Where I'm coming from

From an early age, my parents taught me the importance and sanctity of the democratic process. I remember the day that my mother gained her citizenship and the magnitude that citizenship had on her life. She’s yet to miss a single election.

Consequently, I’ve served as a poll worker since I was in high school, and during my time at Humboldt State University I participated in student government, organizing university-wide campaigns to register students to vote, and coordinating lobbying trips to the capitol.

During my time working for the Elections Office, I’ve helped develop policy, processes, and training practices during some of our most challenging elections. Recently, I was promoted to serve as the Elections Manager for all of Humboldt County.

I’ve lived in Northern California my whole life and I’ve spent a great majority of that life living in rural counties. I understand the unique challenges we face, and the value we place in having our voices heard.

The core of my values with regards to public service stems from a firm belief in Transparency, Accessibility, and Efficiency. You’ll find those concepts reappear frequently as you get to know me and my platform.
